Throwing games — kubb, cornhole and boules
Throwing games are the games you take along and set down: no pitch, no net, no assembly. A patch of grass or sand is enough, and you play with as many people as happen to be there. At Apollo you will find the classics, from kubb to cornhole.
The games at a glance
- Kubb — the wooden game in which you knock over your opponent's blocks with throwing batons, and the king last of all. A round lasts as long as you want it to.
- Cornhole Pro — throwing bags at a sloping board with a hole. Easy to learn, surprisingly hard to win.
- Ocean 5 Extreme Boule — a set of soft boules, so safe on a busy beach or lawn too.
- Apollo Superfly throwing ring — an aerodynamic ring that flies further and more steadily than it looks.
- Ocean 5 Spiderball — with a drawstring and inner pocket, quick to set up and quick to pack away.
Frequently asked questions about throwing games
How much space do I need for kubb?
A rectangular patch of lawn is enough. You mark out the playing area yourself with the corner stakes, so you adapt the dimensions to the space available.
Can I play these games on the beach?
Yes. Kubb, boules and the throwing ring work perfectly well on sand. For cornhole you need a reasonably level surface, so that the boards stand stable.
From what age can you join in?
Throwing games are fun precisely because young and old can join in at the same time. You learn the rules in a few minutes; children simply throw from closer by.
