Buy roller skates – for kids, teens & women
Roller skates are back – and more popular than ever. For your first laps on four wheels, the roller disco or a stylish look in the park: at Apollo you will find high-quality, size-adjustable roller skates, many models with LED wheels. Classic quad skates give more stability than inline skates, which makes them ideal for beginners – from the very first roll to your first clean turn.
Which roller skate suits you?
My 1st Skates – the learner skate
Made especially for the very first attempts: two wheels on one axle at the back for maximum stability like a roller skate, two wheels one behind the other at the front like an inline skate. An adjustable manual brake helps with safe learning. Available in one small size only, for the very youngest.
Classic & Disco Roller
The stylish classic with a high-quality finish: an elegant boot in retro disco look, size-adjustable and available in many designs. Some models come with glowing LED wheels. Ideal for children, teenagers and women who care about look and quality.
Super Quad & Champion Quad
Sporty quad skates in a partial softboot style with comfortable padding and LED wheels. The Super Quad and Champion Quad are technically identical and differ mainly in their base colour – you simply pick your favourite look. Size-adjustable and ready to ride out of the box.
Roller skates or inline skates – which is easier to learn on?
Classic roller skates (quad skates) have four wheels on two axles and therefore stand particularly stable – which gives beginners in particular a sense of security. Inline skates are faster and more agile, but ask for more balance. To start out, roller skates are therefore often the better choice. Our My 1st Skates combines both and makes that very first step on wheels extra easy. All Apollo roller skates are size-adjustable and so grow along for several seasons.
Frequently asked questions about roller skates
From what age are roller skates suitable for children?
With My 1st Skates even the very youngest can make their first rolling attempts. Size-adjustable models such as the Classic Roller, Super Quad and Champion Quad suit toddlers and primary school children right through to teenagers and women.
What does 'size-adjustable' mean?
The boot length can be adjusted across several sizes via a mechanism. That way the roller skate grows along with a child's foot and lasts several years. The exact size range is stated in the product description.
Which models have LED wheels?
The Super Quad and Champion Quad come with LED wheels as standard. Selected Classic Roller models are available with LED – recognisable by the addition 'LED' in the product name. The LED wheels light up through the movement while you ride, entirely without batteries.
What is the difference between the Super Quad and the Champion Quad?
Both models are built to the same technical specification – partial softboot, size-adjustable, with LED wheels. They differ mainly in their base colour, so you simply pick your favourite look.
Do I need protective gear?
While you are learning in particular we recommend a helmet, knee and wrist guards. You will find matching protective gear in our shop as well.
